Tarun Gogoi dead

Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is dead. He passed away in the evening at Guwahati Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing treatment of post COVID complications.

His condition deteriorated on Saturday as his organs did not properly respond to the line of treatment.

Nethralaya to conduct free OPD

The city based Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya will conduct the next Saturday evening OPD at at Guwahati Press Club (GPC) on 21 January. A collection of Assamese short stories titled Dhusar Diganta and penned by Gajen Deka was released at Guwahati Press Club on Wednesday. Eminent educationist and commentator Dr Amarjyoti Choudhury officially released the book in presence of distinguished publisher Giripad Deba Choudhury, author Eli Ahmed & Mohini Goswami, journalist Nava Thakuria, with others.
