Local people gathered to see the rhinos. 

Forest officials  are working on sending the rhinos to Kaziranga National Park..

Thousands of people came out of their houses in Nazira to join the NRC awareness campaign on Saturday. ONGC hospital in Dec

ONGC will start its state-of-the-art hospital in Rajabari in December this year.This was what AASU told reporters in Nazira after a meeting with the oil major officials on Thursday.ONGC officials further agreed to implement other promises in the meeting with AASU leaders in Jorhat. The satisfied AASU leaders called off the 100 hour recent strike. HR director DD Mishra, Alok Mishra, VK Barma and executive director of the Assam Asset Budhin Deuri,  Ex.central secretary of AASU Tapan Gogoi, district president Manik Gogoi and district secretary Guvin Phukon attended the meeting.

NRC in Nazira and Sivasagar

Though several organizations are voicing their opinion on the process of NRC, the Government of Assam is all up to complete the task of updation. In Nazira rural some 50 per cent people are not aware of the NRC updation. The indigenous communities have kept away from collecting NRC data from available sources on the pretext that they are indigenous. A handicraft and handloom fair is pulling huge crowd in Nazira where local products seem to have been received good response.People in large number have visited the week long fair at Nazira MC Club from May 5 organized by industry and commerce department.  The focus of attraction was the saler-buyer meet where both sides shared their views.  Talking to Assam Times assistant director of industry department Babul Hazirika said the response was encouraging.
