Jyoti-Rabha and modern Song workshop concludes
NAMRUP: A 4 -day-long Jyoti Rabha and modern song workshop concluded in Namrup Music College auditorium on Wednesday .The workshop is organised by Namrup Music College in synchronisation with Tezpur Jyoti Bharati . It was held in college auditorium from July 8 in which around 50 students took part under guidance of Sri Alimpon Choudhury . The concluding session was inaugurated by Rohini Kanta Sarmah BVFCL ( H.R.) DGM, attended by BVFCL Chief Administrative officer, Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee as a guest of honour. The workshop was conducted with the aim of promoting the classic songs among upcoming generation . In the concluding session Alimpon Choudhary graced as resource person. The participants were also distributed certificates.

NAMRUP: A team of BVFCL workers from Namrup is staging dharna in New Delhi on Tuesday alleging raw deal for the state owned fertilizer company in the recent Union Budget. Talking to www.assamtimes.org, the workers organization leaders said the initiatives to uplift the industry in the budget itself suggests utter lack of government. “We have no option but to stage dharna at the Jantar Mantar no Tuesday. The body of a 60 year old at a stone’s throw distance from Namrup police station struck no less shock in the entire area on Sunday. Identified as Badal Konwar the body was spotted at a drain at 11.00 in the morning. According to his son Ujjal, his father was unwell for the last couple of days. The body was sent for post mortem. NAMRUP: Properties worth crores of rupees were reduced to ashes when the Daily Market in the BVFCL premises in Namrup caught fire on Friday. The incident took place in the wee hours because of electric short circuit where at least 35 big and small shops were gutted in the huge fire.
