Central Institute of Fresh Water Aquaculture team visits Raha J B fish farm
RAHA : The Director of the Central Institute of Fresh Water Aquaculture, ICAR, Dr. S. K. Swain, Bhubaneswar, today visited the Jungal Balahu Fish Farm under Fishery Dept., Nagaon with Dr. P. P Chakravarty, Principal Scientist, CIFA, Bhubaneswar and Dr. Sanjay Sarma, Fishery Coordinator, ARIAS Society.
Dr. Swain appreciated the available infrastructure of the fish farm and its fantastic management by the concerned department.
The director observed the fish seeds of Jayanti Rohu, Amur Carp and Jayanti Rohu brooders during his visiting hours and highly encouraged the efforts of the Department. He interacted with the farmers present in the meeting and requested to take the benefits of Matsya Setu App. He further informed me that CIFA will try to do the needful for the farmers exposure visit to CIFA shortly.
Dr. R.C. Barman, District Fisheries Development Officer, Ngaon welcomed the visiting team and expressed his happiness at their visit.
Dr. Barman requested CIFA Director to recognise Jungal Balahu Fish Farm as CIFA’s Fish Multiplication Centre for the benefit of NE region.
Bhaskar Nath, fishery officer, JB fish farm and other officials from the farm were also present.

NAGAON: In yet another bizarre incident, miscreants burnt alive a minor girl after being gangraped in Nagaon district sending huge shock and anger across the state on Friday. Two of his associates were captured.The incident took place in the wee hours at Mohghuli area where a gang of dacoits was trying to strike forcing the police to step in. RAHA: Police in Raha have caught Ratul Nath on Friday two days after the inmate in the Jorhat Central Jail vanished under mysterious circumstances. Ratul, a murder convict was held in the morning hours after he reached his home. He confessed to have escaped from the jail and reached Dergaon on foot and then he boarded on a truck to reach Raha who police arrested against to send back to Jorhat. A local court in Nagaon convicted him in a shocking murder case and sent him to the Jorhat Central Jail.
