BPF wins 4 out of 12

KOKRAJHAR: The Bodoland People's Front's (BPF) elected member's numbers have been reduced to 4 from 12 in the assembly elections across the four districts of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). BPF won only four of the 12 contesting constituencies including two each constituencies in Kokrajhar and Udalguri district. Though BPF  had been winning all 12 constituencies of BTC areas since 2006 till 2016 assembly elections. But,this 2021 assembly election's public mandate seen polarised that shown rise up of UPPL and BJP parties in the council districts.
BPF elected MLA from Kokrajhar West constituency in Kokrajhar district Rabiram Narzary has extended his sincere thanks to all citizens of the Kokrajhar West LAC in the district.
Narzary has been elected for straight second term from Kokrajhar West constituency defeating his nearest opponent UPPL candidate Manaranjan Brahma by 12233 margin of votes.
He has assured to work for the massive development and welfare among the society in his Kokrajhar West constituency. He said that his winning is the people's winning as citizens voted in favour of his candidature.  " I am always ready to work for the people of the constituency with dedicatedly",he said.  He said his party is organising a meeting today at Gaurang Valley Hotel in Kokrajhar to discuss on the post assembly election results across the region.  He informed that all elected MLA and contesting candidates of the BPF party are attending the meeting. The Mahajoth is participating as opposition in the assembly as people gave a mandate in the state. He has extended congratulations to the newly elected UPPL MLAs through public support.
He said that BPF party have been working dedicatedly towards the uplift and development of the citizens in the region.

Three arrested in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Police apprehended three persons including a government employee involved with cheating related cases from Kokrajhar town on Thursday. According to Police, Kokrajhar and Guwahati police have jointly carried out a search operation and apprehended the trio. They have been identified as Alok Sen (49) of Prince Golam Hossain Shah Road, Kolkata, Pradip Kalita (42) of Jamalpur of Kamrup rural and Manoj Kumar Deka (75) of Geetanagar, Guwahati. KOKRAJHAR: "Several hundred teacher's posts are lying vacant in Bodo medium schools of Kokrajhar district as well across the state. The state government should initiate filling these vacancies by appointing teachers and make healthy educational environment", said the All Bodo Primary Teachers' Association (ABPTA). KOKRAJHAR: The 27th Kokrajhar district level National Children’s Science Congress 2019 was held with day-long programme at Dotma Girls’ High School in Kokrajhar on Saturday. UPPL ready for seat sharing with BPF

United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) president UG Brahma hinted seat sharing possibility with BPF in the upcoming BTC general council elections to be held in 2020. He reacted to the statement of BPF president Hagrama Mohilary. Mohilary said to medi thta BPF is not going for seat sharing but unification with parties. Speaking the media at Kokrajhar Press Club on Friday, Brahma said that there was only preliminary communication among both the parties regarding unification possibility ahead of elections. He has said that UPPL is willing for seat sharing in the upcoming BTC election. "Door is still open to discuss on the seat sharing and communication", Brahma said.  

BPF-BJP-AGP to continue alliance

KOKRAJHAR: Chief of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Hagrama Mohilary said the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) will continue its alliance with BJP and AGP in the upcoming BTC election due next year.
