Blood donation camp at Hojai.

HojaI:- As a part of Golden Jubilee Celebration one of the oldest Irrigation Scheme of Assam, i.e. Jamuna Irrigation Scheme the Officers, both Office and Field Staffs  along with their family members  organised  a Blood Donation Camp at around 10:30 am on Tuesday under the agies of District Health Department and Hojai Administration at their office campus in Hojai.

  On this occasion a awareness meeting was organised where Sanjai Kumar Mahanta, Executive Engineer presided the meeting.

Eye Specialist and DMO Dr D Chetia Phukan briefly explained the gathering  regarding importance of blood donation. He said all donors will be issued a certificate which will be valid for 1 year. During the period he or she may be able to get one unit of blood from the blood bank without any replacement for his or her kith n kin.

Dr B Saikia I/C Blood Bank raised the point that in Government Sector perhaps Jammu CAD Division is first instance that have organised such a Camp. He thanked the organiser for such a noble deed.

Rikku Dutta counsellor , Blood Bank, Bhogeswari Phukononi civil Hospital, Nagaon explained about  New findings in blood donation such as a diabetic patient can donate blood if he or she is not dependent on insulin, a healthy person aged 65 year can also donate blood.


Earlier, the dignitaries were felicitated under the leadership of Anup Kumar Barthakur, Camp coordinator who gave welcome speech and shared the objective of this event.

Speaking on the Occasion, Executive Engineer Sanjai Kumar Mahanta said,"Blood Donation is a noble work which can save many lives, rich or poor everyone has this precious natural resource.He thanked  the participants and Officers for making the event a grand success.

He  also introduced the mass  and thanked Sri G Kakoty, Sri D Das and Sri P Bora who had sponsored the Lunch.

He further informed that next camp will be organised in the month of December.

 A Total of  80 person's checked their health out of which 50 were selected for donation of  blood.
 
A Nine member team including Doctors,staff, counsellor, lab technician from Bhogeswari Phukononi civil Hospital at Nagaon where present in blood camp.

Body Builder assured of Financial Help

Bag snatcher caught in Hojai.

An irate mob thrashed a youth as he made an abortive attempt to snatch a bag from a person in Hojai on Thursday. Identified as Manjit Das, the local resident of Koochbihar was handed-over to Police to be arrested on the spot. According to information, Manjit was trying to snatch a bag from a retired teacher named Gopal Sahu, when he was on the way to the State Bank of India,J.K Kedia Road to deposit money. Financial aid pouring in Hojai

Markazul Ma'arif, a premier Ajmal CSR organisation has provided financial aid to 26  needy persons  at a public meeting in Hojai on Tuesday.  Distributing Rs.308,000 by cheques and 2 rickshaws, Khasrul Islam, the official of the orgasnization said, "Beneficiaries should use this money for some productive purpose, so that they can run their livelihood ."

Temple to be unveiled in Hojai
