Dental and oral health check-up camp concludes at press club

Most of the media persons of the city were diagnosed with various dental problems, where it was found that everyone has been using wrong brushing process and irregular cleaning of teeth. The participants in a daylong dental & oral health check-up camp & oral health awareness programme, organized at Guwahati Pres Club today, were so advised by the doctors for follow-up actions to maintain the dental hygiene.

Organized by the department of public health dentistry (PHD) in association with 25th junior doctors association (JDA) of Regional Dental College (RDC) Guwahati, the camp witnessed the participation of hundred media persons.

A team of over 30 doctors from the department of PHD and members of JDA, under the guidance of Dr Arshad bin B Hussain, assistant professor of RDC, attended the camp and offered consultations to the media persons.

During the camp, a complete oral & dental screening of the participants was done with dental treatments like scaling and simple restorations. A multi-media presentation was also delivered by Dr Syeda Shabana Yasmin and Dr Mahasweta Dasgupta to enlighten the participants on the importance of dental & oral health.

The doctors including Dr Munmi Borkakoti, Dr Jemei, Dr Dani Tana, Deepjyoti Das, Dr Sumeet Bhattacharjee, Dr Rupam Das, Dr Paramita Brahmachari, Dr Moni Kangkan Deka, Dr Anjali Priya, Dr Charin Paluk, Dr Subrata Saha, Dr Renjam Jamei, Dr Liza Barman, Dr Hriday Ranjan Patgiri, Dr Ranison Hungyo, Dr Utpal Kalita, Dr Susanta Sutradhar, Dr Madhuri Dey, Dr Daleep Siyag, Dr Prasenjit Chakma, Dr Sabir Alam Bora, Dr Rashmi Kumari, Dr Manjari etc rendered their services during the camp.

Eye screening camp concluded at press club

Guwahati: Most of the city based scribes need thorough eye check-ups as they constantly use digital screen for hours in a day. In a day long eye screening camp, organized EYE DOCTORS, a city based eye institute and surgery centre, at Guwahati Press Club on 7 July 2018 it was observed that half of the participants were in need of thorough check-up and necessary treatments. Senior eye surgeon Dr Bindu Singla Goel conducted the camp, where around 60 journalists participated and went with preliminary screening of their eyes. Lipid profile tests for Guwahati scribes

Guwahati: Assam’s well known Dispur Hospital organizes a free lipid profile tests for the journalist-members of Guwahati Press Club starting on Monday (9 April). The series of camp will continue for five days till Friday at the press club premises where 20 blood samples will be taken every day (from 12 noon to 1 pm).
