Syndicate Mafia lobbying hard for Cong ticket in Mangaldai LS

All political parties in Assam have been gearing up for selection of party candidates in the ensuing LS polls in Assam this year. Ticket contenders have been lobbying hard for party nomination from district to national level. In Mangaldai LS constituency sitting MP Ramen Deka of BJP is quite confident of getting another term and effecting morales of other party ticket contenders. The constituency has been under BJP for last ten years. For AGP there seems to be no hard lobbying due to weak party organisation in Mangaldai LS constituency. Former AGP president Chandra Mohan Patowary likely to seek party nomination from the constituency. BPF has yet to project any strong candidate but will fight LS poll alone.

For Congress the picture is cloudy. The battle for party ticket is keen as several high profile old party leaders, businessman, syndicate Mafia etc has started high profile campaign for party ticket from district to high command level. Strong congress contenders in Mangaldai LS are – Madhab Rajbongshi, Dipankar Saharia, Rupa Rani Bhuan etc. It has been known that syndicate Mafia in the party have been lobbying hard at party high command in New Delhi by offering hefty sums to anybody of the high command. Party observers said Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is not aware of all such development. It has also come to notice that posters,banners etc have already been seen every where in Mangaldai LS constituency in favour of a few contenders.

Baby wild tusker succums to injury in Udalguri

A badly injured six years old wild tusker has succumbed to death yesterday evening on May 23 after battling for life since May 18 at Ganeshghat village in Udalguri district.The injured wild tusker had been very weak while entering the remote village near Majuli tea garden with other two wild elephants on May 18.Villagers could see several injury marks on its body and blood was seen oozing out from a deep injury on its fore head.Unable to cross a small stream, the tusker fell to the bottom of the streamlet. BPF sweeps all four LACs in Udalguri district

BPF has won all the assembly seats in Udalguri district.In 65 Kalaigaon LAC,BPF candidate and former MLA Maheswar Boro has been elected to Assam assembly by defeating nearest AIUDF candidate Natu Ram Boro by 17,638 votes.Maheswar Boro (BPF) bagged 47,203 votes while Nathu Ram Boro (AIUDF) got 29,565 votes.Sitting AGP MLA Mukunda Ram Choudhury remained in third place with 24,286 votes only. Udalguri ready for counting of votes

Udalguri District Election Office has been ready for counting of votes on May 19 for three assembly constituencies namely-64 Paneri,69 Udalguri (ST) and 70 Mazbat.Talking to media ND Pathak,District Election Officer,Udalguri said that there would be 12 rounds of counting of votes on 14 tables in each three LACs. People of Udalguri have much to rejoice with the good news of winning 4 gold and 1 silver by 3 girls and two boys from Udalguri representaing India in the first ever international event of Wushu held in Colombo in Sri Lanka from April 16 to April 18.
