Subham brings pride to Udalguri with 14th rank

Subham Patar of Arunodoi Academy, Tangla has brought glory to Udalguri district securing 14th rank in the HSLC examination by scoring 572 marks.Subham is the son of Dulal Patar and school teacher Minati Patar of Tangla.Jubilant students took to the street with Subham after announcement of the HSLC results.Nabin Chandra Boro, Inspector of Schools, Udalguri; Napolean Daimari, Principal, Arunodoi Academy,Tangla and Pranabjyoti Das, Principal, Arunodoi Junior College,Tangla congratulated Subham for his success.It needs mention that students of Arunodoi Academy,Tangla have performed very well in this years HSLC examination with hundred percent success. Besides Subham,7 students passed with distinction marks,5 with star marks, 28 in first division 18 in second division and none in third division.

Rescued deer released

 A wild Deer was rescued by villagers of Mahajanpara near Bhotgaon under Kokrajhar PS in Kokrajhar on Wednesday morning, which has reached in human habited area from nearby Chakrashila wildlife sanctuary.

Villagers intimate to forest department about Deer and later handed over forest department. Forest department released the rescued Deer at Chakrashila wildlife sanctuary in Kokrajhar.

Adiya at home; Ammo seized in Gohpur

Police seized a hand made gun and 14 rounds of live ammunition from a residence in the Gohpur area of Sonitpur district on Friday.


The gun and live ammunition belong to the owner of the house, identified as one Lakhya Pegu, police said adding that Pegu was absconding.


In yet another development Aditya Baruah has safely arrived in his home ending a high voltage drama. He was missing since NIA raided his rented room in New Delhi in search of ULFA leader Aronodoi Dohotia.


Saradha: ED waiting for CBI probe

The Enforcement Directorate team, dealing with the Saradha scam, is waiting for CBI investigation to chargesheet the people involved in the multi crore scam. The investigating officials have been finalizing the charges against political leaders, businessmen who struck unholy deal with Saradha boss Sudipto Sen. The ED is believed to have traced a substantial part of the proceeds of the crime. Once the CBI probe is over, then ED will be able to file a prosecution complaint (chargesheet) against the accused. The official said that the department had attached properties worth Rs3.50 crore apart from the attachment of the properties in West Bengal, Assam and Odhisha. The ED had conducted more than 100 interrogations and arrested three people.
