Udalguri ready for counting of votes

Udalguri District Election Office has been ready for counting of votes on May 19 for three assembly constituencies namely-64 Paneri,69 Udalguri (ST) and 70 Mazbat.Talking to media ND Pathak,District Election Officer,Udalguri said that there would be 12 rounds of counting of votes on 14 tables in each three LACs. Regarding security arrangement Dimple Barua,In-charge Media Cell told this correspondent that there would be three tier security arrangement for the counting day.No vehicles would be allowed beyond 100 M peripheryaround the counting centre.The second tier of security would be at the gate of counting premises and third tier security would be at the door of the counting hall.In the meantime Sadhana Hojai,District Magistrate,Udalguri by an order imposed Sec 144 IPC in the district banning several activities including pillion riding, declaration of Dry Day on May 19.It has also been informed by DEO that 81.23% polling was recorded in 64 Paneri,81.88% in 69 Udalguri (ST) and 84.48% in 70 Mazbat LAC.According to DEO police and paramilitary forces have been given free hand to control any violent situations.
