Everest Climbers to flag off Technodash

Don Bosco College of Engineering & Technology, Azara Guwahati is organizing its 3rd Annual Techno-Management Festival “Prajyukttam 2013,” 6 - 9 November.

The four day fest starts with a mini marathon christened “Technodash” at 6.30 am on 6th November from Don Bosco School, Pan Bazar to Don Bosco Technical School, Maligoan, a distance of 8.6 km.

Two eminent Assamese Everest climbers Manish Kumar Deka and Tarun Saikia, the first persons from Assam to conquer Mount Everest, will flag off the event and will also hand over the prizes.

The organizers expect some 800 runners from 60 schools and colleges to participate in the peace run.

“We dedicate the mini marathon as a ‘run for peace’ in memory of the victims of Guwahati bomb blast which ripped the capital on 30 October 2008,” says Techno Management festival Prajyukttam 2013 Team member Prakash Kalita.

Spot registration for marathon will start from 5.30 am at Don Bosco, Pan Bazar, Wednesday 6th Nov.

Prize distribution ceremony will be held on DonBoscoTechnicalSchool, Maligaon where cash prizes worth INR 60,000 will be given to the first three winners among boys and girls.

While the first 10 finishers will be given consolation prizes, certificates of participation will be given to the first 50 runners who complete the marathon.

There are separate prizes for winners among girls and boys.
