Guwahati: After 20 days of Lockdown to keep COVID19 at bay,  the authorities in the city of Guwahati are beginning to unlock phase I from Monday. According to chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna, the shops will open only on one side of the road from Monday to Friday. Hotels and restaurants have been restricted from opening in this phase.  However,  the restaurants would be able to do home delivery. All government and private offices, banks and NBFCs would be operating with 30 per cent staff.  Cab services will be operating from morning to evening. Tinsukia: A relief camp inmate in Baghjan area allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison on Saturday sending shock and anger across the state. The incident took place after the inmate has been remaining upset over nonreceipt of compensation from the authorities since the gas well inferno reduced his houses and properties to ashes. According to allegations,  only 35 families have received Rs 30,000 each as ex Gratia from Oil India Ltd, and the remaining families have yet to receive any ex Gratia except the relief materials even as the inferno has yet to die out.

Guwahati: BJP MLA from Hojai Shiladitya Dev will quit the ruling party on Tuesday alleging utter in discipline inside the party.  Dev told media on Sunday that utter in discipline would put the party in dire straits in the future.  "On a number of occasions, I brought many things to the notice of the party leadership.
