Buddhist followers protest rally at Guwahati

Hundreds of Buddhist followers and monks from the northeast took out a peace rally in Guwahati on Wednesday, protesting against the recent terror attack in Bodh Gaya, in Bihar. The rally marched to the DC court and the monks prayed for peace.The rally was organised by Greater Guwahati Buddhist Association. A memorandum to the Assam government requesting for security for Buddhist temple was submitted by the protesters.

"We want peace and there should not be any blast, we have witness the blast in Bodh Gaya and we want that security should be provided in all the Buddhist temples by the Assam government and we request the government for this" said Benerable, a monk who had joined the peace rally.
