World Environment Day observed at Haflong

Forest Officials on World Environment Day planting seedlings

The world Environment Day was observed in Dima Hasao through free distribution of saplings of various species of tree among the people of Dima Hasao in a befitting manner on Wednesday.

At Haflong, observing the Day, the Dima Hasao Forest department organized distribution of free seedlings at various places in Haflong. This year the World Environment Day was being observed with the theme ‘Think-Eat-Save’.

The DFO, Southern A forestation Division Sri Borsing Bey along with ACF, Chunga Hmar, RO, Peter Sumer and others forest staffs planted seedlings at the premises of Circuit House to mark the day.

People from every walk of life were seen in encouraging number s collecting the seedlings from the distribution centers in Haflong.
