Case against top ACA official for fraud IPL publicity

The freelance journalist association of Assam, today lodged a FIR in Latasil Police station in Guwahati against the secretary of the Assam Cricket Association, Bikash Baruah, for forgery. What the powerful man of the Assam Cricket association did was unimaginable and very mean in deed, not only to fool the people of Assam but also bringing bad reputation to the state in the name of sports.

It was on 22nd April, that a photograph of Bikash Baruah sharing the dais with Bollywood actor Sahrukh Khan and Dipika Padukan, was published in the local news papers misleading the public that it was a press conference he had attended and that Sahrukh Khan will buy a team that will represent Guwahati consisting of local players and other IPL left out players. Also that the team will play the IPL in the year 2014 in the new Barsapara Cricket Satdium in Guwahati. However it was soon discovered that the published photograph of the press conference that was also published in the media through Bikash Baruah was a fake photograph technically designed to fit the news purpose for gaining cheap publicity.

The real picture was Sarukh Kahn talking to Saurav Ganguly in the year 2011, and Bikash Baruah had superimposed his photograph replacing Saurav Gannguly. But the fact that since no organisation took any legal step against the illegeal and mean publicity, except that newspapers publishing the news against Bikash Baruah, today the freelance Journalist association of Assam lodged an FIR ,said Hiren Kalita, the general Secretary.

The registered case no against Baruah is 98/13,US/120(B)/419(IPC),R/U Sec 66(D),IT ACT/ 2000. “we had filed the case to that the truth comes to light as to what the reality is, we have been trying to contact his numbers but all the known numbers are now switched off” he added. Pulin Saha, a senior sports journalist, says that this incident has brought a shame to the state and also said that some journalists has also to be blamed in this connection.
