The district level Aryabhatta science based competition organized by Udalguri district administration concluded on March 19 at Sankardeb Mission High School with day long programme. Mihir Kumar Baruah ADC,Udalguri inaugurated the competition at 11 AM. On the occasion he requested teachers and students to come forward to avail various science programmes launched by government.Sixty numbers of child scientists from six blocks namely- Kalaigaon, Khoirabari, Bhergaon, Udalguri, Rowta, Mazbat participated in the district level science competition. It needs mention that block level science based model, science based extempore speech and science based poster drawing competitions were organised in all the six blocks prior to the district level competition. And students who had won first three places in each category were only allowed to participate in the district level competitions.
Thaneswar Malakar,DC,Udalguri attended the prize distribution at 2 PM as the chief guest. On the occasion he congratulated participants and winners. He requested them to take interest in science activities.He said that such science based competitions could very much help to bring out inner creativity of students. He advised students and teachers to use scientific experiments for the benefit of common people living in the villages. Results: In the science model competition- Rodali Das and Diksha Devi (Arunodoi Academy,Tangla) won first, Meenakshi Dutta and Dibyarupa Rabha (Maharishi Vidya Mandir,Tangla) second prizes; in science based extempore spech competition- Deepanand Basumatari (Arunodoi Academy,Tangla) won first,Pankaj Sarmah (Orang HS School) won second prises while Prastuti Parashar (Lokapriya Bordoloi Public School,Kalaigaon) and Kalyani Rabha (Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Tangla) won first two places. All the winners will represent Udalguri district in the All Assam Aryabhatta science competitions to be held at Silpagram,Guwahati on April 3 and 4.The state level meet will be organised by Assam Science Technology & Environment Council (ASTEC) Guwahati.
