Angry labourers try to set tea factory on fire at Amsoi
The assistant manager of the Amsoi Tea estate Pankajesh Garaip was arrested on Wednesdayat around 11.45 a.m by police for allegedly beating up a guard of the Tea garden named Durgeswar Tanti on Tuseday night. Talking to this correspondent over phone, Shankar Das, In-charge, Amsoi Police Outpost, said that the the assistant manager of the garden allegedly assulted an employee of the tea garden on Tusedat night at 11 p.m following which the angry labourers today ghearaoed the estate management and attempted to burn down the tea factory but the police reached the spot on time and brought the situation under control.
Meanwhile police took Garaip into custody at Raha Police Station for allegedly assaulting the guard, they said.
