Central Institute of Fresh Water Aquaculture team visits Raha J B fish farm

RAHA : The Director of the Central Institute of Fresh Water Aquaculture, ICAR, Dr. S. K. Swain,  Bhubaneswar, today visited the Jungal Balahu Fish Farm under Fishery Dept., Nagaon with Dr. P. P  Chakravarty, Principal Scientist, CIFA, Bhubaneswar and Dr. Sanjay Sarma, Fishery Coordinator, ARIAS Society.

Dr. Swain appreciated the available infrastructure of the fish farm and its fantastic management by the concerned department. 

The director observed the fish seeds of Jayanti Rohu, Amur Carp and Jayanti Rohu brooders during his visiting hours and highly encouraged the efforts of the Department. He interacted with the farmers present in the meeting and requested to take the benefits of Matsya Setu App. He further informed me that CIFA will try to do the needful for the farmers exposure visit to CIFA shortly.

Dr. R.C. Barman, District Fisheries Development Officer, Ngaon welcomed the visiting team and expressed his happiness at their visit.

Dr. Barman requested CIFA Director to recognise Jungal Balahu Fish Farm as CIFA’s Fish Multiplication Centre for the benefit of NE region.

Bhaskar Nath, fishery officer, JB fish farm and other officials from the farm were also present.

RAHA:  Stepping up their drive against smuggling and selling of liquor in Raha, police jointly with the excise department seized huge consignments of foreign and country liquor from a house in the Demow area under Raha police station on Friday night. Raha: Went through great difficulties as there was no work, food or money during lockdown, a  group of 223 stranded persons including children , differntly able persons, returned to Nagaon in an Assam-bound special train from Coimbatore , Tamilnadu  on Sunday morning. The group alighted at the Chaparmukh railway  junction at around 5.30 am from the Coimbatore -Dibrugarh  Special train.
