All Assam Students Union has warned the government not to allow the immigrants to settle in the name of rehabilitation package. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Sunday, the AASU leaders said that they would keep a close vigil on the rehabilitation works to ensure that not even a single immigrant is allowed to get the benefit.

Bodo must look after themselves, do not fall to sweet talk of Gogoi, Sonia or Shinde. They will butcher Bodos for vote bank. We all know about AIUDF, a terrorist organization. A Chinese handgrenade was found lying at the residence of Chingai constituency MLA Khasim Ruiva early morning on Tuesday. The grenade was found by some family members inside the gate of his house located at Nagaram, Imphal East. A Manipur police bomb expert team rushed to the spot to retrieve the grenade and, later disposed it off at a open place at Lamphelpat area in Imphal West at around 11 AM, according to a police source.
At last Bokakhat police stepped in to rein in MLA Jiten Gogoi. Police on Tuesday arrested Gogoi in connection with the case No 64/2011 where he was charged with assaulting a woman and her family members. The women had to lodge a complaint with Bokakhat police who arrested Gogoi. But was released on bail after a few hours. Assam time was first to break the story that police registered against the independent legislator for assaulting a woman. An uneasy situation is prevailing in Ledo following grenade attack at the residence of a local Congress leader. According to information, miscreants hurled a grenade at the residence of Badal Dutta at around 8 in the evening on Sunday. A 12- year- old boy died when he was knocked down by a truck on Saturday at Thoubal parking, Thoubal district in Manipur, police said on Sunday.
