All Assam Students Union has warned the government not to allow the immigrants to settle in the name of rehabilitation package. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Sunday, the AASU leaders said that they would keep a close vigil on the rehabilitation works to ensure that not even a single immigrant is allowed to get the benefit.

Bodo must look after themselves, do not fall to sweet talk of Gogoi, Sonia or Shinde. They will butcher Bodos for vote bank. We all know about AIUDF, a terrorist organization. Ajmal gets money from ISI and Saudi Arabia to bribe Congress and help to bring more Bangladeshi to Assam. Bodo's must fight for their survival or we will be wiped out by this invasion.

Social activist Anna Hazare was on Friday 20th May 2011, moved by the response which he got from people at an anti-corruption rally in Guwahati so much to proclaim he would move across the country to mobilise public support. There is a recent revival of interest in Schopenhauer studies in India with the impetus generated from the sincere and meticulous efforts made by IDSS in collaboration with Schopenhauer Research Center at the U of Mainz and the example is the publication of the first book on Schopenhauer and India from India in 2008. A newly married 22-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan of her house on Thursday at Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai in Imphal west. Loitongbam Darshana Devi, who was married to L Devendrajit last month, was found hanging inside her bedroom around 1pm before her husband broke into the room after he found it closed from inside, police here said. Devendrajit told mediapersons that he was playing carom at the courtyard when the incident happened. A case has been registered at Singjamei police.
