EMFA urges Akhil to prove allegation against media person Guwahati, July 13: The Electronic Media Forum Assam (EMFA) has expressed serious concern at an activist’s unfounded allegation against a television journalist (also a member of EMFA) being involved with the molestation of a girl in the street of Guwahati on Monday last. The EMFA argues that the verbal allegation leveled by the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity leader Akhil Gogoi, in a press meet held at Guwahati Press Club on Friday, against Gaurav Jyoti Neog (of NewsLive) is out of context, and the forum has asked the activist to prove his allegation within 4 pm tomorrow (Saturday).
Otherwise, the forum demands a public apology from Akhil Gogoi. The EMFA clarifies that the forum and its members never support any kind of hooliganism or anti-social activities. The forum will always endorse the rule of law. But at the same time, it will not digest any kind of unjustified allegation against the working journalists, who have shown utmost sincerity to perform their duties with lot of limitation but with hardships.
Meanwhile, the EMFA will meet tomorrow at Guwahati Press Club at 4 pm to discuss the next course of actions.
