Guwahati Regional Centre (GRC) of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) in association with Department of Chemical Engineering , IIT Guwahati and Department of Chemical Engineering of Assam Engineering College is planning to hold a workshop on “Problems and Prospects of Process Industries in North-Eastern Region of India”, during 1st week of February’2008, at IIT Guwahati.
Process Industries and entrepreneurs dealing with production plants from Northeastern states of India, can interact with academicians of the two colleges besides eminent consultants to discuss various problems faced by them.
Although the region had only a handful of chemical industries in the PSU sector till the other day; the scenario is changing very fast with more private players and joint sector ventures coming up under a liberal economic policy. Such an interactive meet organized by the country’s largest professional body of chemical engineers, hold a great significance in this backdrop.
Representatives from the industry giants to the tiny sector, all are expected to seek for practical solutions in all areas of the industry during this workshop.
