Successful IFS candidate felicitated at Golaghat

The Golaghat Press Club (GPC) today felicitated Ruhiniballav Saikia, the first ever successful Indian Forest Service (IFS) candidate from the district at a solemn function held at the office of Golaghat Dist. Journalist Association.

General Secretary of GPC, Diganta Bhuyan presided over the function and Chairman of Golaghat Municipal Board Dr. Ajit Barua was the guest of honour. Ruhiniballav Saikia was in the 73rd rank in the Indian Forest Examinations, 2011 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Narrating the background story behind his success, Ruhiniballav Saikia told the gathering that if a person works hard by keeping a target, he would naturally succeed. The successful youth further opined that in order to achieve success, it needs a peaceful atmosphere in the family and a good educational atmosphere and a good environment. If a student intends to achieve his ambition, he needs to fully understand what his ambition is all about.

"If, luckily, I happen to get to work in the state, I would perform my duties sincerely and thoroughly to serve the people of the state and try to preserve its rich green heritage" Ruhiniballav Saikia vowed.

Ruhiniballav had an illustrious academic career. He passed his 12th standard from DPS, Numaligarh. From there he went to Kerala where he pursued his B.Sc in Forestry from College of Forestry, Kerala and since then he had been preparing himself for IFS examination. Ruhiniballav however expressed his concern over the lack of proper infrastructure in the state for preparing for National Level Competitive Exams. He added on that there is no dearth of talent in the state but due to shortcoming in facilities and exposure the talented youths of the state are not able to harness their worth.
