Crop Seminar held in Bongigaon


Hundreds of farmers throng Crop Seminar, namely, ‘Amar Pother, Amar Kotha’, organized by the Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, held at Progeny Orchard and Multipurpose Farm, Baitamari, Bongaigaon on February 18 and participated in an intimate interaction programme with the agricultural scientists and agricultural officers.


The seminar was telecasted live by the Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati in DD 1 and DD 13 (North East) Channel from 3pm to 5.30pm. Debendra Nath Das, Director, Doordarshan Kendra and North East Programme Production Centre ; Nauri Kanta Brahma, Joint Director of Agriculture, Assam; Dr. Sunil Kumar Paul, Chief Scientist, Gossaingaon Agricultural Research Station; J V N Subramaniyom, SDO(Civil), Abhayapuri and Dr. Kameswar Das, Programme Coordinator, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chirang has grace the Seminar, along with several agricultural scientists and agricultural officers. The programme was anchored by Mowsam Hazarika and Meghali Talukder.


In this connection, a Rabha Dance, a Rajbangchi Dance and a Bodo Dance were perfomed by Aya Baikho Kristi Dol, Raghunandanpur Talguri Rajbangshi Kristi Dol and Khara Bodo Kristi Dol respectively. Moreover, two numbers of agricultural based short dramas were performed by Rajiv Kro, Bijit Dev Choudhury, Kamal Singh and Manmoth Barua in the programme.


It may be mentioned that, similar types of Crop Seminars were already organized by the Doordarshan Kendra in seven different places of Assam in previous days.
