Tea garden manager freed

A tea garden manager was rescued in Jorhat district on Sunday 24 hours after he was kidnapped by a group of miscreants from Titabor.

Identified as Moon Mahanta, the Lakhimijan Tea Estate manager claimed to have escaped from the abductors a day after he was whisked away from the office at gunpoint.

Police later rescued him and took for medical test.   The incident took place on Friday when armed miscreants took away the manager of the tea garden as he was disbursing salaries to the workers in the afternoon.
