A Govt. School with 15 students, 1 teacher
At a time when the Government is shouting about ' the right to education and education for all' slogans , a Govt. School at Chaparmukh is crying for enrollment of students.
According to the information, even after having all the required facilities the school named ‘Chaparmukh Hindi Prathamik Bidyaloy’ has been running with only 15 students out of which 5 or 6 students are seen present in the class everyday. Though, The school had a good number of students when it was established in the year 1955, but as time passed by ,the school has begun to lose its former glory and the students community as well. At preent the school is run by a female teacher with only 15 students of which 10 students are belong to one family of the locality.
When asked ,the reason behind the less number of students’ presence in the school, the locals said this correspondent that it is due to the school authority’s negligence towards the students and their studies which is why they don’t like to send their children to study in this school. They further said that the school has only one female teacher at present who often arrives late and the students like to return home waiting for their teacher for hours. They also did not deny the fact that they are belong to poor of the poorest class of the society and instead of sending their children to school they like to engaged them in works for money.
When contacted to the school teacher , She said that She is not interested to serve the students any more as the students of the school are very dull and the parents are also not found interested in subjects like education. If she had taken any steps to attract new students to the school and tried to make the students’ parents about the importance of education in life ,when asked , she remained silent and tried to escape the question.
Whatever the cause it might be the conscious people of the locality wants the authority concerned to adopt some revolutionary measures for which the parents understand the importance of education and the students get become interested in coming to school.
