Wi-Fi Internet Service in Press Club premises

The Wi-Fi internet service will be available for journalists Monday onwards in Guwahati Press Club. The specific service, offered by Java Internet, will be launched on on June 6. The member-journalists can use the facility free of cost any day. This wireless service will also be available in all laptops taken inside the press club premises.

Guwahati Press Club has announced a short term media fellowship to study and document the indigenous sports of Assam (primarily from Brahmaputra valley). The selected fellow will try to gather information about the traditional sports, mostly its rules & regulations and also a probable picture, with an aim to get it published in a book form later. The fellowship has been sponsored by Gopal Jalan in his father Basudev Jalan’s memory. The interested media persons (preferably members of Guwahati Press Club) are requested to apply for the same on or before January 20 to the Secretary, Guwahati Press Club with a formal application with his/her bio-data.
Guwahati Press Club in association with the Sun Valley Diabetic Care and Research Center, Guwahati has organized a health check up camp for media persons on December 31 next (Thursday).
