Praffula Mahanta performs special puja on Polling Day
Ex Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Praffulla Kumar Mahanta performed special Puja at his residence in Nagaon before going to cast his vote on Monday. Mahanta along with his wife Joyshree Gowswami Mahanta performed the Puja in the morning to seek blessings from the almighty . Then Mahanta along with his family went to cast his vote at Nagaon Girls Higher Secondary school.

Additional Superintendent of Police Majibur Rahman said over phone that the CRPF personnel we ambushed KPLT rebels at Deothar at around 9.30 am in which three CRPF men were gunned down, while returning from an election booth in Karbi Anglong.

The Congress fielded surrendered ULFA Suresh Borah from Barhampur LAC. Assam Forest Minister Rockybul Hussain will file his nomination tomorrow for Samaguri LAC.
Praffula Kumar Mahanta has been winning from Barhampur LAC since 1991.
Incidents of animals, specially deer straying out of the Kaziranga National Park have taken during the “Controlled Burning” – a forest management technique. On March 21, some Deers strayed into the nearby village of Jyotipur while the controlled burning was taking place in one part of the Park. One of them ran into the village and was injured while escaping the park. The nearby villagers chased and captured the deer and provided it some first aid.
