PM visits Nagaon

The Assam Bandh called by ULFA in protest of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's visit had total impact in Nagaon, as the Business establishment, schools, banks, post office remained closed and vehicles kept off the roads.

Prime Minister in his speech said that during AGP rule ten years back the development of the state was brought to a standstill. He further said that we have initiated the peace process with ULFA and dialogue has started with them. He urged the anti talk faction of ULFA to join the dialogue process.

He further said that Assam development is only possible if there is peace in the state. He said that the development projects of UPA government at the centre have brought development in Assam. He asked the people to vote for congress and elect it for the third term
