Akhil urges Raha voters to oust Congress
Hightlighting the large scale corruption and scams done by Congress Government both in the centre and the state the peasent leader Akhil Gogoi of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti ( KMSS ) urged the voters of Raha not to vote for the congress candidate in the second phase election to be held at Raha on April 11 next.
Addressing a huge public rally today at Raha Sports field, the RTI activist said that Congress party’s manifesto had nothing to say about the issue of big dams and price rise, which reflects their stance towards the common man’s problems which is why it is high time for people to oust Congress party from both the centre and the state.
“I would like to appeal to the voters of Raha not to vote for the congress candidate as the party has given birth a rampant corruption ranging from public distribution system to N C hills scam besides imposing Company Raj and Mafia Raj on the ordinary people “ Gogoi said. He further appealed to the voters to exercise their rights in the polling in a big way against the Congress party and save the state from dying. He also flayed the party for not showing interest to solve the issues faced by common people of the society.
The meeting was also attended by KMSS president Molan Laskar and other KMSS Raha unit officials.

The delay in the construction of two bridges at Raha under four-lane express highway project remains a cause for serious concern. The construction of the bridges is, being done by Madhucon, moving at a snail’s pace, putting a large number of vehicle users to hardship. A major part of the highway is also kept blocked with gravel, sand,chips and soil resulting in fatal accidents becoming commonplace on the stretch and traffic snarls becoming routine. A three year old baby elephant was brutally killed by a group of senseless mob near Jagiroad in Morigaon district on October 26 . According to the eyewitness,the calf with severe injury missed the herd and was loitering alone with a painful body in the swampy area of a village. Traffic movement in the Raha town bazzar area has become extremely difficult due to deplorable road condition for the last 2 years.
