voter awareness campaign failed to make impact on Dr.Manmohan Singh, Prim Minister of India, as he did not cast vote here. What do you expect from general public? Though he later on said that he has casted vote throuh Postal Ballot, he had to give the explanation due to report in the media fearing criticism- one feel.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi held a close door meeting with a circle of Congress leaders in Kaziranga a day ahead of the first phase of Lok Sabha polls where his son is contesting from Koliabor.Accompanied by his wife Dolly Gogoi, the chief minister arrived at the Bagori range of the national party at 11 in the morning and straightly for the Grassland Resort.Minutes after it, his son and Koliabor candidate along with a few senior Congress leaders from Golaghat and Nagaon districts joined them.Then they held 3 a three hour long close door meeting a the resort. Amid tight security arrangement, Jorhat is gearing up for the voting on Monday. The voting will begin at 7 in the morning at 1, 579 booths.The authorities have deployed over 3,000 officials apart from 1700 electronic voting machines to ensure free and fair polls.A triangular contest is expected in the constituency where 11,87,779 voters will exercise their franchise till 4 in the afternoon. The polling officials have already reached their destination in the afternoon.Prominent candidates include sitting MP BK Handique, Pradeep Hazarika, Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Druupod Buragohain and Manoram Gogoi.
Dibrugarh is prepared to vote in the first phase of Lok Sabbha polls slated for Monday along with Jorhat, Tezpur, Koliabor and Lakhimur.Polling officials have already reached 1,5,35 booths where polling is scheduled to begin from 7 in the morning.The constituency of 11,22,39 voters is set to witness a triangular contest among AGP, Congress and BJP. Tight security arrangements are in place at the polling booths.   
Massive security arrangement is in place in Koliabor constituency where Lok Sabha polling is set to take place on Monday.Polling will take place from 7 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon  in all the booths to elect the member of parliament from ten candidate. The authorities have deployed over 5,000 polling officials who have arrived in the booths. These are apart from the security forces to ensure free and fair polls in the constituency where altogether 14,46,408  voters will exercise their franchise. The contest is expected to concentrate on Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s son Gaurav Gogoi former MP and AGP candidate Dr Arun Sarma.
The stage is set in Lakhimpur for the Lok Sabha polls on Monday where 14,29,098 voters will exercise their franchise to decide on the fate of 13 candidates.Polling will take place from 7 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon in all the booths simultaneously. The crucial constituency is set to witness a triangular contest among Congress, BJP and AGP.  Polling officials have already arrived in the booths with polling materials in the afternoon. Tight security arrangement is in place at all polling booths to ensure free and fair polls on Monday.

Mani Kumar Subba’s condition refuses to improve even a day after the Tezpur independent candidate was admitted to MedantaCity Hospital in Gurgaon on Saturday.According to the doctors attending on the former Congress MP from Tezpur, he was not out of danger. A team of experts is closely monitoring his condition who is contesting from Tezpur in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls slated for Monday.He was airlifted to Delhi a day after his was rushed to GNRC following blood pressure and sudden stork at his residence in Lakhimpur.

Mani Kumar Subba has been admitted to the Medanta City Hospital in Gurgaon after he was flown from Guwahati on Saturday.Doctors at GNRC advised the family member of the Tezpur independent candidate to airdash him to the national capital after his condition refused to improve from Saturday morning.According to information, Subba’s condition improved on Friday. But suddenly it deteriorated in the morning forcing his family members to shift him to Gurgaon.He was rushed to GNRC on Friday hours after he complianed of cardiac problem.
