A massive security arrangement is in place in Tezpur which goes to the Lok Sabha polls in the first phase on Monday.
The voting will take from 7 in the morning at 1,763 booths to decide on the fate of nine candidate. The authorities have deployed 2,310 presiding and first polling officials apart from security forces to ensure free and fair polls.
A triangular contest is expected in the constituency where 12,55,939 voters will exercise their franchise till 4 in the afternoon. The polling officials have already reached their destination in the afternoon.
Altogether nine candidates are in the fray in Tezpur Lok Sabha seat, where the electoral battle will be a triangular contest among Congress candidate Bhupen Kumar Borah, AGP candidate and sitting MP Joseph Toppo and BJP’s Ram Prasad Sharma.
