voter awareness campaign failed to make impact on Dr.Manmohan Singh, Prim Minister of India, as he did not cast vote here. What do you expect from general public? Though he later on said that he has casted vote throuh Postal Ballot, he had to give the explanation due to report in the media fearing criticism- one feel.

PRASENJIT SAHAAGARTALA: CPM  is facing a tough battle to retain power in Tripura assembly polls where counting of votes is in progress. The ruling party and BJP  are going neck and neck till 9.30 in the morning while Congress fails to take early lead anywhere. Amid a full proof security ring, the  counting of votes has begun in the Left ruled north eastern state where assembly polls took place on February 18.
MARCUS KANYAKKOHIMA:Amid an unprecedented security measures counting of votes begins in Nagaland on Saturday morning simultaneously along with Tripura and Meghalaya. Counting officials have unsealed the electronic voting machines at 8 in the morning in presence of the candidates and observers where the counting is in progress at 349 tables in 17 centres and the initial trends are available by 9.30 in the morning. Altogether 227 candidates are contesting the election for 59 seats while NDPP leader and chief ministerial candidate Neiphu Rio has been declared uncontested in the 60 member assembly. The newly floated party has fielded 40 candidates leaving 20 to its partner BJP.

PRASENJIT SAHAAGARTALA: Justice Ajay Rastogi took the oath as new Chief Justice of Tripura on Thursday who vowed to expedite the justice delivery system in the north eastern state. Governor Tothagata Roy administered him the oath of office and secrecy at a brief function in the Raj Bhawan where chief minister Manik Sarkar along with several other dignitaries were present.Later talking to reporters Justice Rastogi said he would try to expedite the justice delivery system in the state.
GOLAGHAT: The police have raided the Bio Diversity Park in Kaziranga triggering no less anger among the KMSS leaders and activists who set up it two years back. A team of Bokakhat police along with three botanists reached the park near the world heritage site and conducted the raid for nearly four hours.
