Petsan, whom the rebel outfit chief groomed two months back confessed to have remained on the spot when the Meghalaya police commandos has the fierce encounter with Sohan before was shot dead.
He along with a few others including ULFA deputy commander in chief Drishti Rajkhowa were with Sohan and the moment the commandos killed the GNLA chief, they managed to escape and kept hearing the sounds of gunfiring at Dobru in Sadagre area.
Sangma confessed to have helped Shira only by cooking food and washing clothes who surrendered before the Meghalaya on Wednesday.
Shira, the head of the outfit was killed at an encounter on Saturday last at an operation a week after he and his associates exploded a powerful grenade at the convoy of Jonathone N Sangma as the NCP candidate was on his way back to home in William Nagar after holding an election rally.
