In a bid to sensitise students on various career opportunities .North East Youth Foundation (NEYF) had organised a Career Counselling Programme at St Xavier’s School in Diyungbra in the Dima Hasao District on 19th March. The career counselling programme was first of its kind as for the first time this kind of programme was organised in the school campuses which was founded in 2001. Programme was inaugurated by Fr Arul Soosai, Principal of the school and facilitated and moderated by Ranjan K Baruah of NEYF. Various career opportunities were discussed by the resource person apart from providing information to students about their dream profession. Al together 60 students participated in the programme and they interacted with the resources person and got information on various requirements for becoming successful in life. NEYF and St Xavier’s shall organise more of such programme for the students in the locality in coming days as this kind of programme helps the students in their career planning.

Jesuits are doing marvellous job in Dima Hasao District. They have done so much for the children in such a short span of time. I feel so happy to know that the North East Youth Foundation is helping them out in their own humble way. Hope many more good people will extend their helping hands in the days to come.

Altogether five people died and ten others have been injured when a Tezpur bound bus collided its head on a moving truck near Roha in Nagaon district today.According to information, the accident took place when the speeding truck lost its control and collided its head on the bus from Guwahati at Jungalbalahu area. The Assam Company Ltd (ACL) is evincing interest to strike deal with domestic and international firms for more oil and gas blocks to be auctioned under the seventh round of National Exploration Licensing Policy. According to information, the company is planning to bid for more oil and gas blocks in other parts of the country. Sources say the government will auction 57 oil and gas blocks under National Exploration Licensing Policy-VII, the bid date for which has been postponed to May 16.Also it is informed that Amguri fields was producing 1,000 barrels oil equivalent (BOE) of oil and gas per day, but the production would go up after more facilities were installed.

Police have averted a major blast in Guwahati when as many as ten PTEDs were recovered at Paltanbazar on Sunday afternoon. According to information, these explosive devises were found at a bus after it arrived in the city from Kakopathar in Tinsukia district.
