Police have arrested infamous drugs peddler Pakhi Miyan on Friday in West Benga charging with his involvement in a number of cases. According to information, a team of Central Bureau of investigation is interrogating him in connection with a number of cases. The interrogation is in progress and some startling revelations are coming up during the interrogation before handing over to Assam police. Miyan, who was allegedly involved in the murder of Income Tax officer Tarun Dutta has also been allegedly involved in the killing of a Nagaon journalist with Asomiya Pratidin Muslimuddin Ahmed. The arrest was no disclosed due to the CBI interrogation.
The notorious drugs don was arrested along with his nephew Asha Ahmed, Gynandra Das, Korimjoy alias Nurul Haque Siddique and found ganja, 200 grams heroin, 21 mobile handsets and two cards worth Rs 30 crores of rupees. A resident of Borhawa in Morajhar under Hojai subdivision in Nagaon district, Pakhi Miyan was initially indulged in the smuggling of drugs and but he later expanded his network to heroin, cocaine and even arms. He is said to be kingpin of the murder of Tarun Dutta a revenue intelligence officer on September 12, 2006 at Krishnanagar area in the city. Also, he is alleged to be involved in the killing of AGP leader Habib Ali.
Of late, he was mired in yet another controversy in the killing of Asomiya Pratidin correspondent Mushlimuddin Ahmed. The Central bureau of Investigation also was tracking him to implicated in a number of cases. Although he did not disclosed his identity later it was confirmed by confessional statements by his associates.
