Assam Governments laptop politics

Fallen from grace very gracefully and the laptops are ready to operate now. It was very unsatisfactory to hear some senior journalist saying if Journalist can travel on government concessions in trains, book flats and avail government facilities why not laptops. Will some one explain whether journalist are not common people and are not subjects of the country, do they don’t vote? Government facilities of traveling in train in concession can never be an excuse for, accepting laptops gracefully at a time which is too odd and any layman can understand this and have an impression. It is simply like inviting a friend to have breakfast in the dead of night. I believe the friend would be bound to give a second thought.

Regarding excuse, are we not traveling on Government built roads, avail drinking water facilities, have electricity connection, apply for government jobs, kids studying in government schools and colleges, travel in government buses etc. Should we now say we have accepted the token of “sincere love” from the government because we all uses government properties and thus no regrets? Excuse is the most easiest way to spit on the opponent, as our Chief minister says, there is flood in the America too. And thus we will avail government facilities at any point of time without any regret, this is not done. Had the government announced to distribute money in cash to the journalist what would have been the reaction, can we say we do not need any financial grant.

I wish the journalists had suggested the government that the token of love and care can be given after the election results and formation of the new government. After all the Tarun Gogoi-led present congress government is all sure to do a hatric, so what is the problem? Was there any doubt in the minds of the journalists about losing the golden opportunity provided the same government fails to make a come back. Many would have been very happy to accept the laptops with open heart from the new government. When the people would voted the congress to power we can accept the government token of love as a token on behalf of the people. After all it is taxpayer’s money and the public would not have mind it then.

Those who accepted the token had a lot of reasons to put forward but now it has become more disgusting to hear a lot of queries in the field regarding the laptops, who has got, who has not, did you get it, why you didn’t get, didn’t you apply for it, your name appeared, why you did not take, when is next list coming, Some happy to get it, some sad to miss it, some disheartened not to be allowed to accept from the office and for sure some might be now learning the ABCD of computer to open and shut down the new laptop.

I believe there are people who really deserve the government LAPTOPS, and I was really happy to hear them getting the laptops but again the question of time is disturbing that sends wrong signels. It is really a bad to receive the token of love in the name of making Assam a technosavy state. If the farmers do not produce will technology feed us and if we cannot do proper judgment what can technology do.

The government thought to play a game, they did it, won it and we all cheered it. Sooner or later perhaps we will all have to learn to adjust ourselves with the system. After all accepting Government laptops leads to no violation of human rights and thus no crime. We have just fallen gracefully, who cares.
