Distribution of grants-in-aid inauguration of water supply schemes in Udalguri


A meeting was held at Bishnu Rabha Kristi Sangha premises,Udalguri on February 15 at 10:30 a.m. for ceremonial distribution of grants-in-aid of sports, cultural and electricity departments. Thaneswar Malakar,Deputy Commissioner, Udalguri presided over the meeting which was attended by Rihon Daimari, Minister, PHE, Assam as the chief guest while Maheswar Boro, MLA, Kalaigaon LAC attended the meeting as guest of honour. The Minister handed over special sports items comprising football, volleyball, volleyball net, cricket bat (2 nos.), cricket stumps (6 nos.), skipping ropes and one carom board with coins to 366 sports clubs of Udalguri district. State Level Scholarship of Rs. 3600/- to 20 students. National Level Scholarship of Rs. 4800/- to 3 persons. The Minister and other dignitaries also distributed 2 nos. of 15 Watt CFL bulbs to the 3970 beneficiaries from BPL families rest 14030 will be distributed subsequently under Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojana. They also distributed musical instruments under the scheme of Chief Minister’s Special Scheme 2010-11 to 150 clubs under Udalguri district for 50 each of Udalguri, Mazbat and Panery L.A. Cs.


On the same day, at around 01-00 p.m. Minister, PHE, Assam, Rihon Daimari formally inaugurated 2 (two) water supply schemes namely – Dhanshree Valley Zone – I PWSS under BADP Scheme 2006-07 and Dhanshree Valley Zone – III PWSS under BADP Scheme 2006-07 near Bhairabkunda to supply potable drinking water to the villagers near the International border in the august presence of the Deputy Commissioner, Udalguri and officials of Public Health Engineering, Tangla Division.
