Indian Council for Cultural relations (ICCR) conducted a workshop on Bharatnatyam, Satriya and Bihu dance in collaboration with Antara Kala Kendra, Nagaon which successfully concluded on Sunday. In connection with the closing ceremony of the workshop, the participants attended the same, performed at the cultural programme held at Nagaon district library auditorium. After lightening the earthen lamp, the principal of Antara Kala Kendra Mandira Bhattacharya greeted all the participants and the audiences and on her brief speech thanked the ICCR for the project as well as the guardians of the participants for their whole hearted support to make it a successful one. The Satriya dance which was performed by the artistes of Natun Kamalabari Satra of Majuli, one of the most special programs of the cultural evening enthralled the audiences. The programme concluded with the presentation of participation certificates to the workshop participants. While addressing to audiences, Mandira Bhattacharya ICCR is always ready to extend their help to the artistes for cultural development and in near future she hope to get more such project through which she can trained more and more budding artistes of the state.
With the huge gathering of more than 5000 people attended the namaz at Nagaon Iddgah field, on Wednesday morning. The prayer was attended by the people of all ages. At the end of the prayer, the people greeted each other.
