'The state government had taken the decision to continue the NCERT (National Centre for Educational and Research Training) curriculum system in the schools from the session 2011. As a part of this, in the primary stages the new course will be started from class V-VIII'- said the education minister of Assam Goutam Bora attending in the felicitation meeting of the HS topper Gitika Talukdar today here at the premises of BBK college, Nagaon, in Barpeta district.The passing percentage of the students in the government aided schools has started to increasing. This year the percentage of passing increased up to 2% than that of the private educational institutions. He also added that the Assam government approached the state government to established digital library in the schools. The education minister also added that this curriculum will be started only to make the students proper to attend in the national competitive examinations. He also added that the culture of Assam, History etc subjects are also be added in the new course.On the other hand the meritorious poor students of middle classes will be given 10 thousand per year and the meritorious poor students of higher education will be given 25 thousand per year under the Human Resource Development Scheme. Three contractual basis teachers will also be appointed very soon.
