New junior science college opened at Tangla


In order to provide quality science education to economically backward students of Udalguri,who cannot afford to study in Guwahati or elsewhere in the country,a juniour science college named -Arunodoi junior Science College has been etablished recently at Tangla. A public meeting which was presided over by Lakhi Kanta Ramchiary decided to open the new junior science college at Tangla from July 2010 under the supervision of a Tangla NGO 'Arunodoi'.


While talking to media persons, Napolean Daimari,Principal, Arunodoi Academy High School,Tangla said that the junior science college was established as there had not been a good science institution for higher secondary level students in and around Tangla.It needs mentioned that the new junior science college will start classes from the month of July 2010 at its own premises situated in ward No. 4 Tangla.

A twenty five years old wild tusker has been found dead at Section No.20 of Majuli tea garden in Udalguri district on August 18. The body bore no injury marks and according to local people it could have been poisoned at some other place. One died on the spot while another took on heels under the cover of darkness this evening at the heart of Udalguri town at about 6.30 pm. This was informed by the police to the media persons. According to the information, the two suspected miscreants came face to face with the regular patrolling team of security persons and opened fire at the security persons. In an exchange of fire, one unidentified miscreant died on the spot while another managed to escape under the cover of darkeness.
