BPF leader and Assam minister Chandan Brahma,addressed a huge peace rally at Tetelibhanguri under Kalaigaon Police Station today at 11.30 am.On the occasion of meeting family members of Krishna Kanta Boro,whose body was found at a paddy field near Bhakatpara on September 7, minister Brahma and other high level people of the state and BTC attended the peace rally. Minister Brahma specially thanked Udalguri district administration and Udalguri police for quick recovery of the dead body of Krishna Kanta Boro and arrest of the culprits. Declaring that an amount of Rs.6 lakhs would be paid to the family members within a time frame he also requested people belonging to all community to help district administration for checking anti social activities in the area.
On the occasion he said that education and rehabilitation of the children and wife would be done by the government. The minister declared that Bhakatpara police out post had already been upgraded to a full fledged police station.
Biswajit Daimari,MP (RS) while addressing people said that social and political differences must be short out by discussion and legal procedures. Rihon Daimari, MLA requested ABSU and AMSU to take the responsibility of maintaining peace in the sensitive areas so as to bring back normalcy at the earliest.He also thanked Thaneswar Malakar,DC and Debojit Deuri, SP of Udalguri for timely action to maintain law and order in the district.The peace rally was also addressed by Ramen Deka,MP and Jagadish Sarkar,MCLA,BTC.Several distinguished persons namely-Kamali Basumatari,MLA; Lwmsrao Daimari, EM, BTC; Bonjar Daimari,Dy Speaker BTC; Moneswar Brahma,MLA;Dandi Ram Rabha, MCLA, BTC and Thaneswar Malakar,DC,Udalguri attended the rally along with other high level civil and police officials and journalists.
