New junior science college opened at Tangla


In order to provide quality science education to economically backward students of Udalguri,who cannot afford to study in Guwahati or elsewhere in the country,a juniour science college named -Arunodoi junior Science College has been etablished recently at Tangla. A public meeting which was presided over by Lakhi Kanta Ramchiary decided to open the new junior science college at Tangla from July 2010 under the supervision of a Tangla NGO 'Arunodoi'.


While talking to media persons, Napolean Daimari,Principal, Arunodoi Academy High School,Tangla said that the junior science college was established as there had not been a good science institution for higher secondary level students in and around Tangla.It needs mentioned that the new junior science college will start classes from the month of July 2010 at its own premises situated in ward No. 4 Tangla.

In a very tragic incident one wild elephant (makhana) lost its life in Badlapara tea garden in the night of June 14. As per information the wild elephants body was found near the factory house of the garden in the morning.It has been alleged that careless and loosely errected  electric lines of Badlapara TE could be responsible for the death.The animal's body was found near a jackfruit tree and it is believed that it could have come in touch of the loose electric lines.According to another source the wild elephant was poisoned to death by some people in retaliation.
A wild female elephant which had fallen into deep tea garden trench in Bhutiachang tea garden (section 24) was successfully rescued in the afternoon of June 14. In another tragic incident  one Indrajit Sarma (32) of Kasubil village under Paneri Police Station has been mysteriously killed by a wild elephant at Jorapukhuri village yesterday evening at 7 pm on June 9. In a tragic incident wild elephants killed two people at Coramore on June 8. According to information two strayed wild elephants had been roaming in and around Coramore area for two days. Yesterday evening both the wild elephants arrived at Ambasa line of Coramore tea garden looking for food.
