Cross firing between armed Nagas and Security forces

After an intensified cross firing between a group of three armed Nagas and the Assam Police assisted by CRPF at Uriamghat under Sarupathar Sub-Division of Golaghat recently. The forces caught hold of one of them while other two managed to escape. According to police source the group of Nagas belonging to a militant group of Nagaland were taking shelter in the house of one Altab Husain doubted to be a Bangladeshi with a plan to explode the Uriamghat Bazar area.The sources further said that acting on a tip of the police raided the house of Hussain. Having seen the Security forces coming towards the house the group of three Nagas took the defensive position and started firing upon the security force. Realizing the seriousness of the situation the security forces retaliated and thus the cross firing continued for quite some time. Meanwhile being unable to face the security attack two of them having seen the no way out than to flee managed to escaped while the third one made the forces to be engaged in firing.The third one (Bukuhu Sema) also tried to flee from the spot but he was shot at from a close range and caught hold of by the security personals and brought to Golaghat civil hospital where his condition is said to be critical.The Security force recovered one Itali made 7.62 pistol, four active bullets, one grenade and one Bajaj Vespa scooter from the spot.
