Assam Ranga Utsav ends successfully

Old dramas have its own beauty. Cultural Affairs of Assam and North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Govt of Assam organized a six- day long old drama festival to give the taste of old dramas to the common audience. The festival started on September 18 and ended on 23rd. On 18th drama section, Cultural Affairs of Assam staged the drama ‘Sakunir Protisudh’ directed by Abinash Sharma. Milan Mondir of Borpeta performed ‘Beula’ directed by Bhupen Das, Nagaon Nayto Somitee performed ‘Piyolee Phukon’ directed by Indramohan Das, Baan Theatre of Tezpur performed their play ‘Siraj’ directed by Promud Das, ‘Roykhyo Kumar’ was performed by New Art Players, Guwahati directed by Anup Jyoti Choudhry on 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd September respectively. The festival came to an end on 23rd with the drama ‘Sotabdir Natok’ directed by Abinash Sharma and produced by drama section, Cultural Affairs of Assam.

Citizen Journalism (CJ) and application of new media technology are the new age of communicating issues that impact lives of people on a daily basis. This message on plural and a more democratic media emerged out of a series of recently concluded CJ training workshops.
