Renowned educationist and state teacher’s award winner Tabibullah of Kalaigaon passed away on April 21 at 9 am at his own residence. Tabibullah had been known for his simplicity and dedication to teaching profession.
Born in 1928 at Dokanpara village near Sipajhar he had done his schooling in Mangaldai Government Higher Secondary School and passed Entrance examination from Calcutta university in 1947.He joined Sotia normal school as a trainee teacher to be appointed as the headmaster of Majkurua MV school in 1956.He then joined Tengabari Senior Basic School near Kalaigaon to be transferred to Kalaigaon Girl’s MV School as the headmaster till his retirement in February in 1988. Tabibullah had been a good sportsman,singer and actor.He had been a district level player in badminton and volley-ball.His close association with prominent educationist and pioneer in Scout & Guide movement of Assam late Ibrahim Ali,former state education minister late Ramesh Chandra Saharia, former APSC chairman late Arif Ali and noted lyrist of Assam Idris Ali not only helped him personally but society as well.He was 81 at the time of his demise. He has left behind two sons and six daughters.His sudden demise has been mourned in and around Kalaigaon. Teachers and students of Kalaigaon Girls High School, Kalaigaon Girls MV School, Assam Science Society Kalaigaon branch, Aryabhatta Science Centre, Kalaigaon Lokapriya Bordoloi Public School, Kalaigaon Chambers of Commerce etc.have condoled his sudden demise and offered prayer for the departed soul.
