Workshop on Youth and Democratic Governance

In a bid to sensitize young people on democratic governance, Students Mobilization Initiative for Learning through Exposure (SMILE) under Indo Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) is organizing a day long workshop on Youth and Democratic Governance on 8th April, Wednesday from 10 am. The workshop will be organized in the conference hall of Darwin School of Business near the state zoo. Democratic governance is the central to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the critical importance of democratic governance in the developing world has been discussed internationally. The workshop shall focus on the role and importance of youth of youth for god and democratic governance. There will be debates and discussions on Rule of Law, Right to Information, E- governance, Urban Governance, Panchayat System. Local Self Governance, etc. There is no joining fee for participation while college students or any young people can participate in the workshop. What will be the use of doing these kinds of workshops or seminar. It is only wastage of time nothing else. This days NGOs are also after money. This might be another way of getting money for few people.

North East Youth Foundation is organising second Saraighat Film Festival (SFF) on 1st and 2nd November in Guwahati. SFF shall screen documentaries made by young people and best documentary shall win prize money apart from other prizes. Youth for Humanity, a Guwahati based Non Governmental Organisation  organised a free health check up camp on 19th July at Kalyan Bhawan in Ganeshguri . This health camp was organised in association with Apollo Clinic and supported by Shree Kalyan Charitable Trust.
