The Opposition Asom Gana Parishad has pledged to resolve the burning problems plaguing the state if they are voted. In its poll manifesto teeming with lots of poll promises released in Guwahati on Monday, the party assures steps to deal with insurgency, infiltration and the fundamental outfits.
The party in the manifesto further said it will implement the Assam Accord in letter and spirit besides ensuing uplift of the tribal people. ST status for six communities is another promise of the party if it is voted.
The party also has pledged to pressurize the Centre to consider Assam flood as a national problem.
Releasing the poll manifesto, party president Chandra Mohan Patowary has rubbished Chief Ministr Tarun Gogoi’s statement that the AGP has sold the entire state to Mittal. Patowary further alleged that the ruling party is shedding crocodile’s tears on the tea garden workers plights.
