Children park at Sukapha

Well known NGO Probah has setup a full fledged Children Park at Sukapha, near the burial ground of Ahom kings of Charaideo. The park will provide all round amusement facilities to the Children and its construction expenditure is nearly one crore Rupees. The Park was opened on last 30th January, 2009, where ex-minister of Assam Hemoprova Saikia, Zilla President Hemo Gogoi & President of Probah Debobrata Saikia were also present along with their guests.

Municipal candidates share plans with public

The Nazira Press Club in association with the Freelance Journalists' Association of Nazira organized a programme on Wednesday in an effort to interact with all the municipal candidates who are contesting in the forthcoming civil elections. Nazira gears up for civic polls

Lawka minor found murdered

Villagers recovered a dead body of a 16 year old girl Tuesday morning from the Nahorhabi Tea Estate in Lakwa. The girl identified as Rashmi Munda went missing since January 25 under suspicious circumstances. Villagers claim the girl was raped before murder. A case was registered in this connection at the Lakwa police station.

A full grown leopard who created terror in Mazenga, Hudupara and its sorrunding rural areas in Nazira for the last several months was killed by the villagers on last Wednesday. AAMSU hits streets in Nazira

Over 100 AAMSU workers hit the streets in Nazira in protest against NDFB’s serial attacks in Kokrajhar, Chirang and Sonitpur where 68 people were killed on Tuesay.The workers of the All Assam Minorities Student  Union thronged the Nazira town and burnt the effigy of the NDFB-S shouting slogans against the massacre of the innocent people.
