Shameful arrest: Assam education minister Ripun Bora was arrested by CBI in Delhi on June 3 while he was trying to bribe one of its officials who was probing into the sensational Danial Topno murder case.

The Second Coming: The breakaway group of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) along with PLP united to bolster the regional politics. Both the AGP factions reunited on October 4 at the regional party’s general convention at Golaghat.

Noted young social worker Akhil Gogoi has been nominated for the coveted Second National Manjunath Swanmugam Integrity Award for his relentless work for transparency in public life and government functionings. Trip to Bangladesh: Patowary dares Gogoi's preparedness

The Asom Gana Parishad on Wednesday has contradicted Assam Chief Minister's Tarun Gogoi's statement that the government is ready send Chandramohan Patowary to Bangladesh if Opposition leader wants to ensure talk with ULFA. 2 ULFA cadres, 2 linkmen nabbd in city

Two top ULFA rebels have been arrested from the city's Japorigog with two other linkmen during a police operation on Monday night. According to information, a hand grenade has also been recovered from their possession. The ULFA militants are Bhawani Nath and Abhijit Kalita while the names of the linkmen have yet to be confirmed. Feeline attack in Sivasagar: 9 injured

Altogether niner people have been injured when a leopard attack the villagers in Sibsagar district on Sunday.
